Where to find the best shops in Barcelona?

You will have no shortage of entertainment in Barcelona. When you get tired of sightseeing, take a walk through the famous shopping streets and malls or discover ready-made treasures in the local markets. In the evening, tapas and a glass of wine or sangria in one of the restaurants will come in handy. Not only families with children will surely enjoy their time spent in amusement park on the hill Tibidabo, which is among the oldest in Europe.

Where to go shopping in Barcelona? 

If you want to reduce your time in Barcelona by shopping, start at La Rambla. The entire boulevard is lined with various shops and stalls, where you can mainly buy various souvenirs and other tourist artifacts related to Barcelona, ​​and thus Spain as such. If you are a lover of classic southern markets with fresh tropical fruits, pickled olives, spices and other delicacies, be sure to check out La Boqueria market on the street La Rambla.

Do you prefer shopping for clothes and fashion? Just z La Rambla walk to the main square Plaça de Catalunya and then turn into the first street named Avinguda Portal de l'Àngel. On the same street, you will find several shops of fashion brands such as H&M, Bershka, Zara, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius and others. Definitely don't forget to visit the El Corte Inglés department store on the same street, where you'll find a rich selection of sports fashion in particular - one whole floor belongs to Nike, and on the others you'll find items from The North Face, Vans, Converse, Billabong, Ripcurl and others. 

Barcelona's most famous street po La Rambla it certainly is Paseo de Gracia. A wide boulevard that opens onto Plaça de Catalunya and continues on La Rambla, it is considered the most exclusive and also the most expensive street in the city. You will find many famous buildings here (e.g. Casa Batlló, La Pedrera,...), top hotels, renowned restaurants and, of course, shops - all luxury brands such as Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, etc. are represented here. 

If you don't mind traveling a bit for fashion, visit MareMagnum shopping center in Harbor. On three floors you will find dozens of shops and restaurants. My tip here is the Lefties chain, which is basically an outlet for brands like Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear and others. 

In the L' districtEixample on the street Girona Street you can visit the Mango Outlet, where you can buy clothes of this brand with discounts 20-50%.

If you prefer archival or retro pieces, you shouldn't miss it Els Encants Vells flea market on the street Plaça de les Glòries. It takes place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9.00:20.00 a.m. to 500:15 p.m. and will certainly captivate you with its original atmosphere, as it is one of the oldest markets of this type in Europe. Accompanied by music in the rhythm of rumba, you can find fascinating antiques, jewelry or furniture literally "for a pittance". In total, for 000 sellers and merchants, there are approx. XNUMX square meters.

Shop opening hours

Most shops in Barcelona opens between 9.30 and 10.00, shopping centers mostly at 10.00. It's not unusual for smaller shops outside the center to close for an hour or two over lunch, so don't be surprised if they close somewhere between 13.00pm and 17.00pm. In the case of restaurants, it is common that they are only open for lunch, then close and open again in the evening. 

Common shops are open from Monday to Saturday, on Sundays the Spaniards take a siesta and, with exceptions, everywhere is closed (the exception is, for example, MareMagnum shopping center in Harbor).
