Camp Nou in Barcelona: Stadium tour, tickets and FC Barcelona museum. This is a must-see for football fans!
To football fans club FC Barcelona no need for a long introduction. Kicked in the capital Catalonia they are very popular and once they have their beloved Barça some match all residents of Barcelona literally live by football. Not even if local FC Barcelona are among the most famous teams in the world and their tabernacle called Spotify Camp Nou fans from many other countries come to admire it. It is not surprising - it is the stadium with the largest capacity of seats in Europe, as it can accommodate almost 100 spectators!
Good to know: Redevelopment of Camp Nou - what does it mean for tourists and football fans?
He started in June 2023 the Espai Barça project, the long-planned reconstruction and modernization of the Spotify Camp Nou stadium.
The entire reconstruction will take several years, and during that time - logically - no matches or tours will take place at the stadium. All home team matches moved to Estadi Olimpic (Olympic Stadium) on Montjuic hill.
So you can't look directly inside the Camp Nou stadium at the moment – as much as possible, you can watch its demolition and subsequent reconstruction.
And how is the visit? FC Barcelona museum, which was part of Camp Nou? You don't have to be sad - fortunately, the museum is still open during the reconstruction! It just moved a few tens of meters next door from the stadium building to one of the nearby halls. I was worried that the quality of it would suffer, but from what I've heard from those who have been there, it's still worth it!

El Clásico, the most prestigious football match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid
The FC Barcelona club has one main competitor - that is the Real Madrid team. Well, Spanish football fans usually support one of these two big teams.
The match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid is usually the event of the football season. El Clásico, as this tense contest is called, is something every football fan should see at least once in their lifetime.
And if you combine participation in the match with a visit to the local stadium, you will have an experience that will be the envy of every other football fan.
And actually, it doesn't have to be just El Clásico derbies: if you happen to be in Barcelona when the top Spanish competition is being played (so-called La Liga, Primera División), definitely do not hesitate, buy tickets and you will enjoy the extraordinary spectacle and exciting atmosphere of one of the league matches for yourself. However, from a pragmatic point of view, I recommend rooting for the home team.

Experience a football match in Barcelona for yourself!
It does not make sense to mention twice that the Spanish love football and perhaps every little boy dreams of one day being the one to follow in the footsteps of the famous Messi.
Anyone who was in Barcelona during the European or World Cup could tell you: when the home team wins, you will experience a busy night full of unceasing fan joy, singing (or shouting), collective honking of car horns in the streets (where almost every Catalan owning this means of transport) and generally associated celebrations and general merriment.

A short trip into the history of Camp Nou, the famous stadium of FC Barcelona
The famous football stadium of the FC Barcelona team is called Spotify Camp Nou (or also Nou Camp) and you can find it in the college area by name Zona Universitária.
Did you know that the current sponsor of the Spanish football club Barça is the Swedish music giant Spotify from March 2022? That is why the stadium and all related activities bear the name Spotify Camp Nou.
The history of the Camp Nou stadium dates back to 1954, when its construction began after the existing Les Corts stadium in Barcelona was no longer sufficient in terms of capacity and technology. It is said that over 60 people came to see the laying of the foundation stone of his successor, among whom there was no shortage of Barcelona's political elite or the local Archbishop Gregorio Modrego.
Although the original construction budget was exceeded by about 5 times, everything was completed within three years and the official opening of the Camp Nou stadium took place on September 24, 1957.
In the following decades, the club regularly invested in the stadium, repaired, modernized, added (and then removed) stands and seats, simply improved everything possible. This brings us to the present day and the Camp Nou looks like it does…
And actually, this form is far from final. Big changes await Camp Nou in the future!
What will the Espai Barça project bring?
Already in 2014, club members voted for a new one an ambitious project called Espai Barça (website), which aims to better prepare the local famous club for the future, offer athletes better facilities and fans even better experiences. As is customary in Barcelona (see for example Sagrada Familia), some constructions drag on for an incredibly long time, and Espai Barça is no different.

This is what the new Espai Barça stadium and its immediate surroundings will look like
The main goal of the project is to build the largest sports-innovation hub on the Camp Nou site, as well as to modernize all other stadiums and buildings owned by the club.
Unfortunately, due to poor financial management, the coronavirus and other adverse events, things are not going very well according to the original plan and, for example, the modernization of the Camp Nou stadium is only about 5% complete. The original ideas have been compromised a bit, and in the future we should expect mainly new stands and roofing, which is supposed to offer special VIP seats or perhaps space for photovoltaic panels. Campus Barça will be built right in the stadium environment as a special place for fans to meet, play sports or organize various events.

When will the Camp Nou stadium renovation be completed?
The opening date of the Camp Nou stadium has been postponed several times. Current plans suggest that the stadium should be partially open in May 2026If everything goes well and the necessary permits are obtained, FC Barcelona could play some important matches at the stadium from now on, although the number of spectators will be limited to around 63. However, the stadium will not yet have a roof and many other parts will not be finished. The complete reconstruction of Camp Nou should be completed in the summer of 000, according to plans. Well, we'll see...
Camp Nou and FC Barcelona Museum Tickets - How Much Do They Cost?
If you want to see the Camp Nou stadium and the adjacent FC Barcelona museum, you will need to prepare at least €28 (some days they are only €19). It is sold for this price basic ticket (or flexi variant with an open visit date) to visit the stadium.

The price of the basic ticket includes:
- Museum visit – you will see the exhibition, trophies, multimedia section and a special section dedicated to Messi and learn about the history of the club
- audio guide, who will guide you through the museum and introduce you to everything important
- access to the Construction Viewpoint, from where you can follow the construction of the new stadium
playground visit – you look at the playing area, the stands, the players' waiting tunnel, the guests' dressing room or perhaps the press centera photo from your visit to the stadium – you will keep a memory of this place
If you really love the football club FC Barcelona, I recommend looking for one of the higher ticket variants, which will bring this famous club even closer to you in the form of audio guides, virtual reality or perhaps access to VIP areas, where ordinary visitors simply cannot get to.

Attention, as we mentioned at the beginning of the article, a tour of the Spotify Camp Nou stadium is not possible from mid-2023 due to renovations. Only the FC Barcelona club museum is available.
