Barcelona tourist cards - which card is the best for 2026?

If you're planning a trip to Barcelona and you won't have much time to spare, it is worth considering purchasing one of the so-called tourist cards.

Thanks to tourist cards, you will mainly save money and time – you won't have to pay for public transport and you'll also get free entry or a discount when visiting Barcelona's museums or other monuments. 

I recommend buying the selected card online before your trip, because thanks to it you can save a few euros compared to the regular price on the spot.

After purchase, you will usually pick up the cards upon arrival at Barcelona at the airport or in any of information centers Barcelona Turisme. Or in case Go City cards after paying, you will have the card directly in your mobile without the need to go somewhere and pick something up.

What are the main tourist cards available in the city? 

So which card should I choose?

I understand that at first glance you from all those cards it can be a bit confusing and you will have a problem choosing the best tourist card, which will suit your needs exactly. Therefore, I will try to give you a little advice and describe how I see it.

  1. if you have very limited budget and deep in your pocket, reach for the card Hola Barcelona. It will offer you unlimited transport around the city for the selected number of days, so you won't have to deal with any tickets or tickets. (Alternatively, I recommend purchasing a 30-day T-usual ticket, which is more advantageous in some cases)
  2. If you have the opposite limited time to explore the city, I recommend buying a card at Tourist bus. This is typically suitable for someone who is here 1-2 days and wants to see as much as possible in the shortest possible time. 
  3. If you have a city to explore enough time and you don't plan a completely low-cost trip, look at the cards Barcelona Card, or Family variant – she's great when in town you are traveling with family and children. These cards include entrances to selected monuments and attractions or interesting discounts. For a lot of people, I think this card has the best price/performance ratio.
  4. If you don't want to limit yourself and if you want to see the best in the city, reach for cards from Go City. Fact - if you buy, for example, an all-inclusive card, you can visit dozens of the best attractions, including Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, Park Guell, Camp Nou and many others. And to move between monuments, you can use the tourist bus, which is also included in the price. 

I hope this has helped you at least a little to clarify which card to get. It is quite treacherous to give advice remotely like this when I don't know how long you will be in the city, what you like, what you want to do, where you will live and so on...

Barcelona Card – the main city card for tourists

Tourist card Barcelona CardIf you will be in Barcelona for 3-5 days, definitely go for it Barcelona Card. This is the main city card intended for tourists who visit the city for a short time.

Why is the validity of the cards primarily indicated in hours? The reason is simple - the card really starts to be valid at the moment of its first use, and everything counts from that time. If it was for days, those who used it later in the afternoon or evening would be at a disadvantage. However, for greater clarity, I also include a conversion to days in parentheses. 

Barcelona Card Family – version for families with children

Tourist card Barcelona Card FamilyBarcelona Card Family is a special tourist card that is intended primarily for families with children. In its main features, the card is similar to the standard one Barcelona Card – offers the following options:

  • visit selected monuments and attractions for free
  • travel by public transport for free
  • take advantage of additional discounts from partners

So how are they different? The main difference is mainly in the monuments and attractions included, which should be especially fun for children. You can visit for free: 

Dinner Barcelona Card Family starts at €112 per adult for the 72-hour (three-day) option. 

Go City Barcelona All Inclusive – tourist card for the most demanding

This tourist card is for everyone who doesn't want to limit themselves when visiting Barcelona. Its offer is really simple: you choose the number of days in the city, download the card to your mobile phone and then you can just visit any sights you like! Thanks to the uniform price, you can save quite a bit of money. 

Go City Barcelona All Inclusive includes dozens of great sights, attractions and experiences. You can find them all listed on their website, just randomly Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, Park Güell, football Camp Nou, Glories Tower, Spanish Village (Poble Espanyol), aquarium, Casa Vicens, Montserrat and many others. If you buy a card, don't forget that you need to reserve an entry somewhere! Everywhere else you can go straight in with your card and don't have to wait in line. 

You should know: For some, the disadvantage of the cards from Go City may be that for some sights you have to book a visit time with the guides they have a contract with. This applies, for example, to large attractions such as Sagrada Familia or Park Güell. In other words, you have to choose one of the slots they have available that day. Some people don't mind this (and prefer to get an expert interpretation from a guide), others less so, because they prefer flexibility and prefer to move on their own axis... If a reservation is required, they have it written on the website and there is also a page, how to proceed when you want to make a reservation. 

The minimum validity of this card is 2 days, the maximum is 5 days. You can visit as many things as you can during that time. 

How much does the card cost?

The price of this card is not exactly low, but if you don't want to deal with anything and want to have "everything included", it is an obvious choice for many people. Because classic is not included in the card public transport around the city, I recommend to buy more with it T-casual ticket for about €10 – here you will at least need a pro journey from/to the airport.

Go City Barcelona Explorer - explore the TOP sights with a discount

If you want save on entrance fees and at the same time you don't want to pay full price for the Go City All Inclusive card (see above), you might be interested in its variant called Explorer. The latter differs from the latter in that you do not choose the validity for the number of days, but the number of sights, attractions and experiences you want to see in Barcelona. Minimum is 2, maximum is 7. 

The list of included sights and attractions is the same as in the previous case (there are a lot of them - several dozen) and it is up to you to choose the ones you like the most from this list. 

So you select the number of monuments, specific monuments from the list, pay and the voucher for entrances will arrive on your mobile phone. 

You should know: Some sights included in the Go City Explorer card require a reservation, as in the case of the All Inclusive variant (see above). Go City has a page on the website where it describes how to make a reservation for monuments. 

It is useful that you have up to 60 days to visit all the sights on the purchased card from the first use of the card. 

How much does the card cost? 

The price depends on the number of monuments included in the card. Classically, I recommend thinking about what you want to see, calculating the price for a standard ticket and then comparing it with the offer of this card.

Hola Barcelona – public transport card

If you don't need discounts on museums, monuments and other sights, but just want to unlimited movement around Barcelona, get a travel card Hola Barcelona. You can buy this for 2-5 days and thanks to it you can use everything for free public transport in the city.

What's in the card Hola Barcelona included? 

Price of a 48-hour (two-day) card Hola Barcelona starts at €17,50; 120 hours (five days) costs €40,80. 

In case of online card purchase Hola Barcelona on this page Barcelona Turisme You can then pick it up at the airport and in all its information centers and stands. If you buy directly on the TMB website, you can pick up at any ticket machine in the city after entering the code from the voucher.

Bus Turistic – card for the tourist bus

Barcelona tourist bus cardAnother interesting way to save time and money in Barcelona is to buy a card for the so-called Tourist bus,.

These are special tourist buses (hop on, hop off) crossing the city from monument to monument. This comes in handy when when you really have little time to explore the city and need to move as efficiently as possible.

However, tourist buses are not part of the city's public transport system, so at least you need one to travel from the airport to the center and back another public transport ticket to acquire.

Tourist buses in Barcelona run 2 routes that include the most famous sights such as Sagrada Família, Park Güell, La Pedrera, Camp Nou, La Rambla or maybe Montjuïc.

The advantage, of course, is that the stops are always a few steps away from the given place, so you don't waste time moving around. You can find more about tourist buses in the article dedicated to moving around the city, where individual bus routes are described in detail. 

The Bus Turistic ticket also includes an audio guide in one of 16 languages ​​(Czech is unfortunately missing), a brochure with discounts of €200 (list of places) and free WiFi on board the bus. 

You can buy either a 24-hour (one-day) pass for €33 or a 48-hour (two-day) pass for €44. After purchasing, you can jump on the bus at any of their stops (and exchange the voucher for a card there), or pick up the card at the airport or at any branch Barcelona Turisme.  

More cards for art, history or science lovers

You can purchase additional tourist cards for your stay in Barcelona. These are not only focused on transport around the city, but thanks to them you can get free entrance to various museums or try some local experiences for free. 

Articket for art lovers

As the name suggests, this card is aimed at anyone who likes art. For one price, you get entry to 6 great museums and galleries right away. When you get Articket for €38, you can visit one of the following places without additional fees:

If you would like to go to two or three of these museums, then you are welcome Articket it pays off. In total, you save up to 50% of what you would pay if you bought the tickets separately. 

Articket valid for one year. Another benefit is that the museums, you can take 1 additional person under the age of 16 for free on one card, which is great if you're in Barcelona with children.

Barcelona Card Modernist for architecture fans

Tourist card Barcelona Card ModernistCatalonia gave the world Gaudí, who presented his unique view of modernism in his work. If you are also among his fans (or of Catalan modernism in general), you should definitely not miss the card named Barcelona Card Modernist. 

What will you gain from it? 

You can visit 10 buildings and structures for free, which are key to the most special period of Catalan architecture. The list is really brilliant, half of them are signed by Gaudí himself, others by Domènech i Montaner or Puig i Cadafalch.

The card is available in variants for 3, 4 or 5 days. For an adult, the price starts at €100. If you are an architecture fan, this card is simply a must have. 

Barcelona Card Science

Barcelona has been an important center of science and research since the Middle Ages. If you get a card Barcelona Card Science, you will be able to get acquainted with the latest achievements of science and technology: you will get discounts on entry to almost 30 scientific and technological places, museums and attractions. In the total sum for inputs you can save up to €200, that is, if you visited all the places... :-)

If you go through the list above, you will find that there are also interesting discounts on attractions that may not seem very scientific at first glance, for example: 

There's a lot of it, and this way the card makes the most sense for me when going to the city you are traveling with children. 

You can buy a card with a one-year validity for a nice €10 and if you plan to visit at least a few of the attractions that the card covers, it can quickly pay for itself. 

Arqueoticket for archeology fans

While Articket aimed at art lovers, Arqueoticket is trying to appeal to fans of archeology and history. With one pass, you get access to the following museums: 

  • Museum of Archeology of Catalonia (Catalan Museum of Archaeology)
  • Egyptian Museum of Barcelona (Egyptian Museum in Barcelona)
  • MUHBA-Museu d'Història de Barcelona (Barcelona History Museum)
  • Born Center de Cultura i Memòria. (Centre of Culture and Memories)
