Guide: Buying tickets for an FC Barcelona match - everything you need to know

For many football fans, it is a dream to see a match live FC Barcelona team. It doesn't necessarily have to be the most prestigious El Clásico derby, but any match in the Spanish La Liga or a friendly match with another team - thanks to this, you will be able to cross off "I saw a FC Barcelona match live" from your wish list. 

You need tickets to attend any match. 

If you have never bought tickets for an FC Barcelona match and are looking for information on how to do it, you are in the right place - in the article I will answer all the basic questions such as:

How to buy tickets for an FC Barcelona match?

Anyone who has ever bought tickets to a match probably knows. If you have never bought FCB tickets before, I will give you a little guide on how to do it: 

1. look at list of listed matches below and choose the date you would like to see Barça play. 
2. Go to na official Web (or P1 Travel or viagogo), where tickets can be purchased. I intentionally list more options, because from my experience with buying on the official website, there are sometimes problems (tickets are not available, the order often does not go through for some reason, etc.)
3. Get to know the layout of the Camp Nou stadium (or the Olympic stadium) to find out what the best seats will be exactly for you. Of course, the price depends on where you sit in the stadium (see the best places to watch the match).
4. Choose the ticket you prefer: the cheapest tickets are available, VIP entrances with food or various packages associated with with a Spotify Camp Nou tour.

The 2025/2026 season ends in May and there is a break. The new La Liga season 2026/2027 then starts in August. The schedule of matches from August onwards has not yet been published, I will add it later.

You should know: Please note that all FC Barcelona home matches will be cancelled during the renovation period. the Camp Nou stadium they play on Olympic Stadium (Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys) on Montjuic. However, the map and information below are for Camp Nou, so take them with a grain of salt. 

What are the best places to watch FC Barcelona?

Opinions vary on the question of the best seats for a FC Barcelona match :-) A lot of people prefer the first floor of the main stand (Tribune) because you sit directly behind the substitution table. In my opinion, the Gol Nord grandstand offers the best price/performance ratio: this is where the biggest boiler is. This is the sector where you come across Grada d'Animation, a rock-solid core of fans who will be chanting and waving flags throughout the match. Of course, you won't be able to get to their seats, but if you can get tickets to, say, the second floor of Gol Nord, you'll be close enough to have a good view of the playing field and at the same time not be deprived of the right combat atmosphere.

What ticket options are available?

If you buy from the official website, you must first choose the type of package you want. There are 3 available:

• Match ticket only (=you only pay for the ticket)
• Match ticket plus something extra: a visit to the stadium and museum, a gift and something small to eat and drink; approx. €35 will be added to the ticket price.
• VIP Premium Package – the best places to watch the match (private stands, skyboxes), access to VIP lounges, unlimited consumption of food and drinks, personal assistance; the price of these tickets starts at around €250 and ends somewhere around €1 per person. 

So if you are in Barcelona, you go to the match and at the same time you want to see local museum and all those other things, it's better to combine it in one package and not buy it separately.

How much are tickets for FC Barcelona matches? 

The price depends on the place you choose. If you follow the recommendation and look for tickets at the Gol Nord stand, expect ticket prices for La Liga matches to be around €50 – €100. Tickets for other competitions such as El Clásico or the Champions League are slightly more expensive and range between €130 and €150.

In general, the price of tickets at the Gol Nord grandstand works out really well: it is a lower average. Grandstand and Lateral stands are the most expensive. Here, for tickets to a match, you will pay, for example, double the prices listed above. 

Where to buy FC Barcelona match tickets?

I recommend buying tickets for FC Barcelona matches directly at:

1. official website fcbarcelona.com (the backup is then certified sellers such as P1 Travel or resellers like viagogo)
2. at the Spotify Camp Nou box office directly at the stadium
3. in one of the official team stores in the city, the so-called FCBotiga. I.e. e.g. FCBotiga Megastore near Camp Nou (Carrer de Mallorca, 406), open Monday to Saturday 10:00 - 19:00, Sunday 10:30 - 14:30 (when there is no match), otherwise open if there is a game until the start of the match.

When buying tickets for an FC Barcelona match, it is better to avoid unknown brokers or agencies that you do not know or do not have recommendations for. 

When is the best time to buy FC Barcelona tickets? 

Once the sale starts, it usually does the longer you wait, the more tickets will be available.

How is it possible? 

This is because at the beginning seats are only available to members and season ticket holders and they - if they do not go to the match - can give up their seat to others. 

The system described above is also connected to the impossibility of choosing a specific place - sometimes you will only be able to choose the part of the stand you want to be in. This is because the club does not yet know which specific seats will be available... 

Tickets for specific places are on sale for about 1-2 weeks (and often even several days) before the match. If you were to delay the purchase, it could theoretically happen that the tickets would sell out, but this happened mainly during the coronavirus when the capacity of the stadium was limited. 

What should I do if there are no free tickets for the match?

Wait until it goes on sale. The vast majority of tickets makes available a few days before the match. If there are no tickets for your match, just be patient and keep an eye on the official website for the next wave of tickets to be released. 

When tickets are not available, it is on the official website option to leave an email address and as soon as tickets for the match go on sale again, they will send you an email. 

You don't have to worry about running out of tickets – thanks to the capacity of the Camp Nou, tickets are rarely sold out. (Honestly, this can only happen if the total capacity is limited for some reason - this happened, for example, during covid). 

What about children, do they have a discount? 

If to Traveling to Barcelona with children and you would all like to attend a FC Barcelona match together, be prepared to buy a ticket for each child – there is no discount and everyone (regardless of age) must have their own ticket. 

Although some sources state that children can go to FC Barcelona matches for free if you take them on your lap, this is not true. Absolutely everyone, including children, needs to have a ticket. Only children under the age of 8 who are kept as members of the club can enter for free. So if you are in Barcelona as a tourist, you must buy as many tickets as there are regardless of age. 

Is it possible to get a ticket for the match with a discount? 

Very rarely. From time to time there are events such as Black Friday or other special occasions where you can buy a ticket with a discount or a package for several matches at a very good price. I recommend following websites offering ticket sales during these events. 

How to get to the Camp Nou stadium?

Transportation to the stadium is easy! I personally recommend it metro: take advantage of L3 lines (Palau Reial, Maria Cristina, Les Cortes) or L5 (Badal, Collblanc) and then on foot. Other transport options to the stadium.

Do I need to have a printed ticket for the match or can I have it on my phone?

If you bought your ticket online, you can show the digital version at the entrance, you don't need to print anything. 

Is a personal document (citizen card, passport,...) required when checking tickets and entering the stadium?

officially yes because random checks are done where they can check your name on the ticket and your identity. In my experience, this doesn't happen very often in practice, but it can certainly happen. It is therefore a good idea to be prepared and take some kind of personal document with you to the stadium, or at least a photo of it on your phone - you do not necessarily have to physically have the document with you at the stadium. 

What can I take with me to the Camp Nou Stadium?

Although there are signs directly at the stadium that you are not allowed to bring suitcases, backpacks and even fanny packs inside, in practice it is not so hot. You can take smaller luggage inside just fine, just wait for the security to check its contents upon entry. 

You can also take a snack or something to drink with you. If you are going to take a drink inside, it must be in a container with a maximum volume of 500 ml and there must not be a lid. Glass and tin containers are prohibited.
