This article will give you overview of all available tickets to the aquarium, will tell you which one to buy and it will recommendation on the seller with the best price. 

My tip for visiting the aquarium: If you go to the aquarium with children, buy a so-called souvenir book with the entrance fee, which contains various interesting facts and quizzes. 

Ticket price or how much will I pay for entry?

The price of tickets to the Barcelona Aquarium starts at €10 for the smallest children. If you are traveling with several people or with a family, it is worth buying one of the discounted packages for groups. Below you will find individual ticket prices as available on the official website: 

Individual entrance fee

Children under 2 years of age have free entry to the aquarium.  

Now let's look at the individual tickets in detail: 

• Time ticket – as the name suggests, in the case of this ticket for €25, you select the exact date and time of entry to the aquarium when purchasing. You then have 30 minutes to enter, as indicated on the tickets (e.g. 10:00 - 10:30). 
• Ticket without date and time (flexiticket) – this €30 ticket is great for anyone who wants to be flexible or doesn't know the exact plans for visiting Barcelona in advance. You simply buy this ticket and then you have 90 days from the date of purchase to visit the aquarium - you just come here without a reservation on a day and time that suits you. 

Group entrance fee

The group entrance fee is worth it if you are going to the aquarium in a large number of people. For example, you go here with the whole family or with a group of friends. 

What do group tickets include?

• Family ticket – if you need a ticket for 2 adults (over 11 years old) and 2 children 5-10 years old, the family ticket for €75 is just right for you. Keep in mind that the ticket is tied to a specific date and time and cannot be purchased as a flexiticket. If you don't mind, you can save €11 per entry compared to buying individual tickets (2 x €25 + 2 x €18 vs €75).
• Ticket for friends – thanks to this €88 ticket, a group of 4 people over 11 years of age can visit the aquarium. As with the family ticket, this can only be purchased for a specific date and time. When you buy it, you can save €12 on entry (4 x €25 vs €88). 

The downside to both ticket packages is that if the combination offered doesn't suit you, you're out of luck and have to buy normal, individual tickets. This will happen to you if you have children older than 11 in your family, or if you have more than two... 

Which aquarium ticket should I buy? 

Before you buy, make sure what is your priority: lowest price or flexibility?

Personally, I prefer the flexibility and the ability to visit the aquarium whenever I want - without the stress of getting there late or missing the entry time. This is why group packages don't make sense for me personally, even if we go here with my family. I'll pay a few euros more, but I'll be much more relaxed and enjoy everything without the hustle and bustle. 

If you want the lowest possible price and are able to give up the possibility to visit the aquarium exactly at the time you want, buy one of the group tickets.

Buying Barcelona Aquarium tickets online has several advantages. The main ones for me are these: 

• you will save time – when buying any online ticket to the aquarium, you do not have to wait in line at the cash desk. After the purchase, you will simply receive a ticket or voucher in your email, which you can use to prove yourself during your visit: just show it on your phone or tablet (you don't need to print anything). In high season, you can wait in line for an hour at the checkout. And you don't want to experience that, especially if you are traveling to Barcelona with children.
