How I searched for cheap parking near the airport in Vienna
Since we moved to Moravia, Vienna Airport (and lounges there) I use whenever I have to fly somewhere for work or privately (for example, to my beloved Barcelona; true, I'm flying here because I want, not because i have to...). It is much closer to Vienna, to Schwechat Airport, than to Prague's Ruzyna.
When I travel alone, I usually jump on the train to the airport terminal, but in the case of flights with the family, we most often go here by car. The reason is simple: when we all go on vacation, we have many times more things than when I fly alone :-).

Don't forget that you need a motorway stamp in Austria!
If you travel to Austria, you will most likely need a highway stamp. From 2024 it is possible to buy a stamp for only 1 day, which is useful if you are driving someone to the airport. Otherwise, I recommend a 10-day pass for €11,50. More about the Austrian highway stamp and where to buy it.
When you're driving for the first time, you'll probably start googling things like "cheap parking Vienna airport" etc. I did the same thing for the first time and then I read a lot of reviews and compared different companies and offers...
Sure - it is in the Austrian capital a lot of parking garages and several large parking lots, so it can be a bit confusing and confusing at first. It helped me personally when I set myself clear criteria for choosing the best parking spot:
- I want a parking lot that will be directly at the airport or close to it – probably no one wants to travel with big suitcases for a week's vacation across the whole city... from public parking lots; the parking rate is approx. €4/day)
- I don't want to give half my salary for it – well, maybe not half, but I just don't want to overpay unnecessarily, because every euro I save here I can use on vacation.
- I want it to be safe – a low price is important to me, but I don't put it first. I don't want to spend my vacation a thousand kilometers away thinking about whether the car is OK...
So I researched lots of different parking lots, big and small, went through their offerings and put together this list of 5 tips on where to park. Let's start with parking right on the grounds of Vienna Airport.
How to park for free at the airport in Vienna?
You are entitled to free parking at the airport in Vienna if you need to pick someone up or take them there. In that case, you can directly enter the address of the departure hall at the airport into the navigation - parking is free within 10 minutes. You just take a ticket at the entrance, but if you leave the premises within those ten minutes, you don't pay anything. (If you need to park longer, you pay €15 for every 2,50 minutes that have started. More information, map.
Parking in the area of Vienna Airport
Vienna Airport offers several parking areas: there are indoor garages (Car Park 3, 4) and outdoor parking (Car Park C).
The advantage of parking at the airport is primarily the location of most parking spaces: you will find them within walking distance of the departure hall, when you can walk to check-in in a few minutes.
Parking example: Parking garage at the airport
The parking spaces are mostly covered, guarded by a camera, and you can also order some extra services such as taking the vehicle to the parking lot (Easy Parking service) or maybe washing the car.

The price for a week's parking right at the airport starts at around €130. This is valid for Car Park C, which is an outdoor car park that offers the best price for long-term parking. From here, you can walk to the departures hall in about 10 minutes. (Alternatively, you can pay extra and leave your car directly at Terminal 3, from where a driver will take it to the same car park for you).
You can search for all the parking options described above at the airport and then book via Vienna Airport's online reservation system, or display online comparator with other options.
Mazur, cheap parking on the outskirts of Vienna airport
In the wider area of the airport (albeit a little further than the aforementioned parking garages) there is also Mazur parking lot. You can't walk to the airport from here, but you can use the free shuttle that takes you to the airport in 10 minutes.
Sample parking lot: Mazur
The local bus runs all day and all night in approx. 15-30 minute intervals. The price of weekly parking at the Mazur parking lot is approx. €105.

Parking not far from Vienna Airport
If you are looking for really cheap parking, you need to expand your radius to the villages around the airport. Right here you will find the most advantageous parking lots that you can use to park your vehicle.
Panda Parken, a reliable car park with the best price/performance ratio
The parking lot that has the best price/performance ratio for me is Panda ParkThis company has two parking areas about 3 kilometers from the airport and tries to offer its customers the best service at a great price: as soon as you arrive at the main parking lot at Zeppelinstraße 1, 2401, Fischamend and you park your car, you can have a free coffee or chocolate in their lounge, then one of their drivers will take you straight away and take you to the airport in a Mercedes. The journey takes just over 3 minutes and the company has no problem equipping the car with a child seat on request, which is handy if necessary you are traveling to Barcelona with children.

Demonstration of the Panda Parken parking lot
The way back is as easy as it was there: once you have collected your luggage, just call the company and they will send a driver for you who will be waiting at the airport and take you to your car in the parking lot.
The parking lot itself is an outdoor area surrounded by a fence, there are lights and cameras.
You will pay a reasonable €99 for a week's parking with a ride to the airport. This price applies to vehicles of "standard dimensions" - for anything larger (such as Mercedes Benz Vito, Ford Tourer, Vw Multivan, ...) they charge a 50% surcharge. Watch out for this so it doesn't get expensive!

Parktiger, the cheapest parking lot you can find near the airport
By far the cheapest parking lot at Vienna Airport that I found is Park tiger. The daily rate is a pleasant €5,99, weekly parking cost me €45 last time with them (when using the discount code HAPPY), otherwise a few euros more expensive.

Parking demo: Parktiger
You order parking online, pay, arrive, park your car in the parking lot, and then you have to travel to the airport by train from the nearby station. So, add a train ticket for €1,90 (one way) to the parking fee.
Parktiger has three parking lots available at the following addresses:
- Parking lot 1: Eisteichstraße 20, 2320 Schwechat (map)
- From the parking lot, a 5-minute walk to the Bahnhof Schwechat station, then a 6-minute REX7/S7 train to the airport (2 stops)
- Parking lot 2: Pechhüttenstraße 8, 2320 Schwechat (map)
- From the parking lot, a 6-minute walk to the Bahnhof Kaiserebersdorf station, then a 9-minute REX7/S7 train to the airport to the airport (3 stops)
- Parking lot 3: Schillergasse 1, 2402 Maria Ellend (map)
- From the car park, 2 minutes walk to Maria Ellend/Donau Bahnhof station, then 10 minutes by REX7/S7 train to the airport. (2 stops)
All parking lots are unattended, not covered, but surrounded by a fence and there are cameras. Parking spaces have numbers, but they are only indicative and you can park wherever you want.
A new feature of Parktiger that I discovered this year is the covered parking in the garages at Möhringgasse 2-4 in Schwechat. This is about 20 euros more expensive than the standard one. Then you have to go to the same station as for parking lot 2 (Kaiserebersdorf).
My tip: At the entrance to the parking lot, there is a small shelter on the left side where you can unload your suitcases before you park. The entire parking lot is on grass and gravel, which is not easy for suitcase wheels to understand...

Orange Parking as a variant "something in between"...
The last option that you can try when departing from Vienna is Orange Parking. This parking service is somewhere between the aforementioned Panda Parking and Parktiger. From the first named he takes your free transport to the airport, from the second a lower price.
Sample parking lot: Orange Parking
If you decide to use Orange Parking, simply arrive by car at the parking lot at Berggasse 12, 2401 Fischamend-Markt. Here you hand over the keys to your car to the operator and then the driver will take you to the airport in their car. The journey takes 7 minutes under ideal conditions.
You call them upon arrival and they pick you up again and drive you back to the parking lot. The price of the entire service for a weekly park ticket comes to €75.

As you can see, in all cases you can get to the airport from the parking lot quite quickly, so you can go to, for example airport lounge and have something good before the flight.

Happy parking and subsequent flight!
