Buying a ticket to Barcelona with Ryanair step by step

In this article, I would like to focus purely on buying a ticket with Irish low-cost Ryanair, with which almost every other person flies to Barcelona.

If you are planning to visit Barcelona, ​​the best way is to how to get there by plane. It is possible to go by bus or other means of transport, but buying a ticket to Barcelona will cost you almost the same and, above all, you will get to the city much faster. 

What are the options if you want to fly to Barcelona? 

Currently, the following companies have direct connections from Prague to Barcelona: 

• Vueling (Iberia)
• CSA
• Ryanair

If you would like to travel by air from Brno or Ostrava, so unfortunately you will not find a direct flight and spending some 10 or more hours on a trip that otherwise takes 2 hours is pointless. It is much better to reach Prague by train and fly from there. Even with the trip and the price of the train ticket, it often works out cheaper. 

You should know: Ryanair offers flights to Barcelona and Bratislava. However, the airport they will take you to is in Girona. It is 100 km from Barcelona. Ryanair offers really cheap flights

My experience is that Ryanair has long had the lowest flight prices from Prague to Barcelona and if you buy them in time, no competition will offer you better terms. On time means as soon as possible, ideally as soon as you decide to travel - the price of tickets increases as the departure date approaches, so if you want to save, don't wait for anything and search and order right away. 

Disadvantages of cheap flights

The low price of the ticket must naturally be reflected somewhere. In the case of Ryanair you won't get the standard you might be used to with other airlines at the lowest price – you can take only small hand luggage on board (you have to pay extra for a suitcase up to 20 kg), you cannot choose a specific seat on the plane, the time for check-in in advance is shortened, etc. If you pay a few hundred or a few thousand extra, you can get all these (and a few more) benefits just fine, but there are people who don't mind a little discomfort on a short flight and prefer to invest the saved money in experiences in Barcelona. 

Buying a ticket step by step

If you want to buy a cheap ticket from Ryanair to Barcelona, ​​I have a guide for you that will guide you step by step through the whole process of buying a ticket. 

Go to the Ryanair website and type "Barcelona" into the search box.

Then select Barcelona from the list.

And specify the period for which you want to search for tickets.

Now you can adjust the price according to the date, if, for example, you want to achieve the lowest possible ticket price. Then you click on the yellow button with the price for the term.

A menu of options for the given date will expand and you can choose the standard, plus or flexi plus level - they differ, of course, in the range of services they contain. As I wrote above, for example, the more advanced ones will offer you a priority check-in option or even a flexible ticket, when you do not need to know the exact date of return. 

Once you have selected your ticket to and from Barcelona, ​​click Continue at the top right. 

On the next screen, you will see other options that you can buy for the ticket – insurance, hotels, car rental. Personally, I skip these sites because the conditions are not always completely favorable. What is important is the Complete Purchase button at the top right. 

You then need to log in or register. Ryanair didn't have this before, now you can't check out without their account on the website. Fortunately, it takes about 2 minutes and is not difficult. Just click sign up if you don't have an account.

Then you select the type of registration – I entered my email because I don't like to log in using accounts from social networks. You must enter a password for the e-mail, which must meet the conditions listed next to the box on the right. 

The system will then send you a code to your e-mail, so go straight to the e-mail.

Write down the received code or copy it to the clipboard. 

And paste the code on the original page and click Done. 

You will be taken to a summary page, where you can fill in information about yourself or other passengers traveling with you. In addition, here you enter information about the payment card from which the payment for the ticket will be deducted. You must have Internet payments enabled on the card with a sufficient limit. 

Then just fill in the billing address and click the pay now button. After that, you will receive your ticket by e-mail and you can start preparing for your trip!
