Travel from the airport to Barcelona-Sants train station

Barcelona Sants (Estacio Sants) is the main train station in Barcelona. This is one of the most important transport hubs in the country, as they are heading from here trains to all corners of Spain. Since 2008, there are also high-speed AVE trains that will take you to Lleida, Tarragona, Zaragoza, Madrid, Cordoba or even Malaga. And of course you can from this Barcelona station go to Costa Brava or Costa Maresme by train to the sea.

How to get from the airport to Barcelona-Sants train station?

If you need to at Barcelona-Sants get out of the airport, it's really simple: just get on Renfe R2 Nord commuter train heading towards the center and get off at the third station in the sequence: that is precisely Barcelona-Sants. The whole journey takes no more than 20 minutes. 

You just need to buy a one-time ticket for €4,60 at the Renfe machine in the train departure hall.

If you only have the Barcelona train station as a transfer destination on your way further inland, accommodation somewhere around Barcelona-Sants may come in handy. This is useful, for example, if you arrive late in the evening and your train does not leave until the morning.
